Unprecedented Show of Support for Indian History TV Show:
In a week’s time, close to 60,000 Fans have joined the 'Save Chandragupta Maurya' group on Facebook.
They are demanding restarting the TV Show 'Chandragupta
Maurya'.
'Chandragupta Maurya' was a very popular TV show on the
Indian TV channel 'Imagine TV'.
Liked by an audience of all ages, it’s about the life of the great Indian King, 'Chandragupta
Maurya The Great', (born 345 BC, ruled 320 BC – 298 BC), who was the founder of
the Maurya Empire.
He succeeded in conquering most of the Indian subcontinent
after Alexander left India and is considered the first unifier of India as well
as its first genuine emperor.
On 13'th of April, the TV Channel closed abruptly leaving
the fans high and dry.
Fans immediately formed the 'Save Chandragupta Maurya' group
on Facebook and are demanding that the TV show be started on some other
Channel.
Posts upon Posts expressing solidarity with the show have
come pouring in on the group's Facebook page.
One can see snippets from the old episodes, quotes from the
shows characters and comments of the Fans.
The Group has been adding 8000 members daily for the past
one week.
This is unprecedented in Indian television history and has
caught everyone and the other channels by surprise.
Fans are hoping that the show will restart very soon.
